How to Block a Program from Accessing the Internet?

While using internet on your PC, you may sometimes face issues that some unwanted applications are using your internet connection. This not only wastes the internet data, but also slows down other important processes. If you want to prevent a file from accessing the internet, you can do it as below:

Block an application from access the internet using Windows Firewall

> From start menu, search for "Firewall" and select Windows Firewall with Advanced Security.
> Choose Outbound Rules from the left sidebar.
> Choose New Rule... from the right menu.
> New Outbound Rule Wizard opens. Now, select Program as rule type. Select the program's EXE file. Choose Block the connection.
> Choose the profile this rule applies to. Select all three if you are not sure.

Hopefully, the application will be blocked from using the internet.

There are many other external firewall applications and software available that can be used in case the inbuilt system firewall doesn't work effectively.
