Google analytics is a tool by Google, which helps website owners in keeping track of the website visitors, traffic and revenue. Even a free blog like blogger blogs can also be added and configured with Google analytics. Below is the basic process involved.
First, you need to have an analytics account to use Google analytics. You can use your Google account for the purpose.
During sign up, you will have to fill all the details of the website/blog for which you want to use the analytics.
Once you finish the above step, you will receive a tracking id unique for your blog tracking. (Tracking id will be in this form: UA-44237841-1)
You will also get a specific code to be used on your website or blog to be able to configure it with the analytics. You need to insert this code into every webpage of your website.
Now, go to your website/blog.
Access the source file of your website, and insert the code above the <head> tag, and save the file. It may take up to 24 hours it to configure and start tracking your visitors.
For blogger blogs, the code must be inserted in the HTML file of the template. Go to template section on the dashboard, then edit the HTML file. Now, insert the code just above the <head> tag, save the template.
OR
In blogger, Go to settings > Other. Here you will find an option for Analytics Web Property ID. Insert the anaytics ID here and save the settings.
